Anywhere along the Coast is suitable for shore angling while fully equipped boats are available on charter at Wexford Harbour, Kilmore Quay, Rosslare and Courtown. A full list of approved boats, licensed by the Department of the Marine, can be obtained through the tourist offices. The sea angler can expect a huge variety of fish including tope, ray, conger, ling, dog fish and flatfish. An annual shore angling festival is held on Hook Head at the end of May. Virtually every stream and river in Ireland has brown trout. Salmon can be added to the hunt on the Barrow, Slaney and Bann rivers. Bream, rudd, tench, roach, hybrids, perch and pike are other species found on the Barrow.
