Whether your interests include golf, fishing or walking, Ballinkeele is ideally situated for all you outdoor activities. Historical sites and archaeological wonders are scattered throughout the County and surrounding areas. Take a scenic drive to the Wicklow Mountains or explore the medieval city of Kilkenny – all within driving distance. Ballinkeele House is the perfect venue for a relaxing break in the sunny south-east corner of Ireland.
Directions
From Kilkenny:
Take the R700 to New Ross then N25 to Wexford, just outside Wexford take the N11 at the roundabout to Oylegate and follow our signs to Ballinkeele.
From Dublin:
Either take the N11 down the coast to Gorey, turn left in Gorey onto the R741 for Wexford, from the point you turn left, it is approximately 17 miles until you pass an Emo petrol station, 2 miles further on, take the second turn right that has our signpost for Ballinkeele house.
Take this road straight through the village of Ballymurn, half a mile further on the left are our Black gates with a sign on the gates for Ballinkeele House.
From Dublin Airport:
Follow signs for Dublin then the M50. Take the M50 then follow signs for the N7 south for Naas, watch carefully as it may be signed for Waterford or Kilkenny.
You then look for the N9 for Carlow Kilkenny, you then take the N80 for Bunclody, continuing on the N80 for Enniscorthy, then follow our Map.
From Wexford:
Take N11 North to Oylegate village and turn right at signpost. From Enniscorthy, take N11 South to Oylegate village and turn left at signpost.
Rooms
From the spacious Entrance Hall you take the floating staircase to the bedrooms. The Master Bedroom has an original four-poster bed and furniture with stunning views over the surrounding countryside, with a recently renovated ensuite.
Each of the other bedrooms feature original furniture, large comfortable beds and spectacular views. The Superior bedrooms all have bath and shower en-suite.
The Blue bedroom has been recently redecorated with new carpeting and more, in this room there are two antique bedside potty lockers.

Dining
The Dining Room at Ballinkeele House offers guests the opportunity to experience old world elegance and charm, decorated in period style with candle light reflecting the stunning chandeliers your cannot help but feel the romance of the room.
Margaret the owner who is a member of the European Community of Cooks tries to use only naturally produced ingredients in each dish and locally produced meat and fish, accompanied by fresh fruit and vegetables from her own garden.
The aroma and presentation of each dish, combined with the relaxing surroundings of the magnificent dining room come together to enhance the enjoyment of top quality food. Ballinkeele is also licensed to sell wine and has a good cellar with many fine wines to choose from to compliment each dish.
Gardens
As you drive up the avenue to Ballinkeele House, you will pass the stables and yard on your right, where Frigate, the first mare to win the Grand National back in 1889, was bred and trained. At the back of the house there are three fields, which were once all one and known as the racecourse.
Further along the avenue you will pass large rhododendrons, fully grown monkey puzzles and one of the recently reclaimed small ponds, with a restored walk and garden.
